Remote Access |
One of the greatest rewards of installing a network is the ability to have users be able to dial in and out of the network. Why have separate phone lines for each person on the network for dialing out to a proprietary system (such as Westlaw or Lexis/Nexis) or to send and receive email? Imagine the cost savings from eliminating redundant telephone lines and the attendant recurring monthly fees by setting up a pool of telephone lines for dialing out to Lexis or Westlaw and for simultaneous access to the Internet and email access. |
In a nutshell, here are the some of the advantages from having a network instead of a sneaker net:
Simultaneous access to email and the Internet
Cost savings
Access to important documents away from the office
Ability to telecommute and expand the geographic reach of your firm
